South Miami Beach Condo Map

South Beach, also known as SoBe, was first developed in 1910, and soon became a millionaires haven, attracting the likes of Harvey Firestone, J.C. Penny and even President Warren G. Harding.  In the 30′s, the art Deco revolution took over, creating many of the historic buildings that are still standing today, giving South Beach a unique ambience. In the late 80′s, the models moved in en mass. South Beach soon became known as a modeling mecca, attracting tall, lean, and tan perfection together with all their admirers. The night clubs, restaurants, and boutique hotels soon followed, and SoBe evolved into a destination location for sun-deprived Northerners seeking fun in the sun. Today South Beach is a major international entertainment attraction, where any number of languages can be heard spoken while dining out, shopping, or strolling the beach.  It has become very popular with Canadiens, Europeans, and Latin Americans, many of whom maintain second residences here. The recent luxury high rise condo craze started in 1997 with the construction of the Portofino Tower in SoFi (South of Fifth) and rapidly spread North with the addition of many Luxury Towers such as Il Villagio, the Setai, and the W Residences on the Ocean Side, and the Bentley Bay,  the Mondrian, and Capri on the Bay side.
